Microsoft warns users jailbreaking could brick WP7 phones

Today Microsoft released a statement related to the recent reports of the ChevronWP7 jailbreaking tool. Microsoft said: "We anticipated that people would attempt to unlock the phones and explore the underlying operating system. We encourage people to use their Windows Phone as supplied by the manufacturer to ensure the best possible user experience. Attempting to unlock a device could void the warranty, disable phone functionality, interrupt access to Windows Phone 7 services or render the phone permanently unusable."

Apple is selling all of its Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + 3G models of the iPad at discounted prices today. Apple's Black Friday deal cuts $41 off the price of any iPad. That means the device starts at $458 with free shipping for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model. The most expensive version, the 64GB Wi-Fi + 3G model, is available now for $788. The devices are available in Apple's store.
