Palm Mansion could be HP's webOS 2.0 tablet

HP and Palm may release a tablet during the second half of 2011 with a 5-inch touchscreen and webOS 2.0 on board. The Mansion is currently a codename, and there's not much known about the device just yet.

Possible CDMA/GSM Apple iPad in the works

According to an analyst with Wedge Partners, Apple may be working on a global iPad that's capable of running on both CDMA and GSM networks. The new iPad is also rumored to sport a front-facing camera.

T-Mobile UK issuing Xperia X10 and Mini Pro Android 2.1 update next week

T-Mobile UK posted on Twitter that it expects to issue the Android 2.1 update to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the X10 Mini Pro next week. T-Mobile said that it would be "available for download," which suggests it may not rollout over the air. We'll keep you updated if it launches next week.

RIM pleased with progress over India security concerns

RIM is continuing to work with the government in India over security concerns related to its BlackBerry email and messaging platform. "RIM and the Government of India have had a variety of constructive discussions over the past several months and we are pleased with the outcomes and progress of these discussions," RIM said in a statement, noting that it is working to satisfy security needs of corporate and government customers while also focusing on the need for law enforcement agencies to prevent illegal activities. In August India told RIM it had until October 31 to address its security issues or India would ban BlackBerry devices. The two have had constructive talks since.

AT&T announces Black Friday phone sale

Today AT&T announced its Black Friday deals for November 26 through November 29. AT&T's touchscreen phones will be on sale on Friday, and it will offer 24-hour refurbished devices for $0.01 on Saturday. That incldues the refurbished BlackBerry Torch 9800. On Sunday AT&T will sell its quick messaging devices for free, and that includes the Pantech Link, the LG Vu Plus, the Sharp FX, and the Pantech Pursuit. On Monday AT&T will sell its high-end smartphones for $0.01, and that incldues the HTC Aria, the BlackBerry Curve 3G, the Motorola FLIPOUT, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, and the Motorola BRAVO.

Nexus One OTA update rolling out

An over-the-air update is reportedly rolling out to the Nexus One and contains some bug and security fixes. The software, version FRG83D, fixes some core and framework JARs, Webcore libraries, and issues with email, Google Services Framework, and Market packages. The update is also available on the XDA-Developers website.

Apple iPad now for sale at Sam's Club

Bulk item giant, Sam's Club, is now selling Apple's iPad tablet. With a slight discount, Sam's Club customers can purchase the 16GB Wi-Fi-enabled version for $488, $12 less than retail price and the Wi-Fi+3G version for $609, which is a $20 discount.

Angry Birds for low-end Android devices in the works

Rovio recently posted a list of some smartphones that its popular Angry Birds game isn't compatible with. Some of those devices include low-end phones with lower clocked processors and any phone running Android 1.6. Rovio confirmed on its blog that it is working on a lighter solution of its Angry Birds game for those phones. "This does not mean lighter gameplay or a lesser amount of levels, but a game experience optimized for devices with less processing power," Rovio said. It wasn't specific when that version would be available.

Apple iPhone embedded SIM could spark war with European carriers

Some European carriers are concerned about Apple's intentions to create an embedded SIM solution, which could take some control out of the carrier's hands. One carrier executive said Apple could be facing a war with the carriers should it implement the embedded SIM solution.
