Orange UK to carry white BlackBerry Curve 9360 Posted: 18 Oct 2011 04:56 AM PDT Orange UK has listed a white version of the BlackBerry Curve 9360 as coming soon on its web site. This version of the Curve 9360 is exactly the same as its black counterpart that is already available, just with decidedly less color. The white Curve 9360 is expected to be free with monthly plans of 20.50 GBP or more, and 249.99 GBP (US$393) on a pay as you go plan. Orange did not announce an exact date of availability for the white Curve 9360. Read the full story here. |

The 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display is larger, the 1.5GHz dual-core processor is faster, and the 1850mAh battery is larger - among other more minor changes. All of this adds up to a fast, beautiful Android 2.3 Gingerbread device that is a pleasure to use. Watch the video here. |

The iPhone 4S features the same design as the iPhone 4 from last year, but it has upgraded internals that include a new, dual-core A5 processor and an 8 megapixel camera that can record 1080p HD video. The 3.5-inch display has a very high 326ppi resolution (960 x 640 pixels), and the phone is still a svelte 9.3mm thick. Watch the video here. |

Google sets date for 2012 Google I/O conference Posted: 17 Oct 2011 12:21 PM PDT Google has set the date for the 2012 Google I/O developers conference for April 24-25. Google I/O is Google's big yearly event where it usually shows off the new features of Android and ChromeOS that it has been working on in secret. It is also when Google hands out a lot of free goodies to the developers who attend. This past I/O event was where Google announced Ice Cream Sandwich, the next version of Android. Like last year, Google I/O will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Tickets tend to sell out for Google I/O in record time, and next year's event will likely be no different, but Google has not yet announced registration information at this time. T-Mobile expands no-contract Monthly4G plans Posted: 17 Oct 2011 11:49 AM PDT T-Mobile has announced a new addition to its line-up of no-contract Monthly4G plans. The new $60 per month plan offers unlimited talk, text, and web usage at 4G speeds for the first 2GB of data. Users can also opt for three Pay by the Day plans that allow customers to only pay for the days that they use their phones. A $3 per day option offers unlimited talk, text, and web with 4G speeds for the first 200MB of data. Two dollars a day buys unlimited talk, text, and web at 2G speeds, while the $1 per day option offers unlimited text and 10 cents per minute for calls. ITC rules in favor of Apple in HTC patent dispute Posted: 17 Oct 2011 11:29 AM PDT The U.S. International Trade Commission has ruled in Apple's favor in the patent infringement complaint that was filed by HTC. RIM says its too early to assess financial damages from BlackBerry outage Posted: 17 Oct 2011 11:05 AM PDT Commenting on the worldwide service outages that BlackBerry users suffered from last week, RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie said it was too soon to assess the financial impacts and damages brought about by the downtime. Apple iPhone breaks sales records for Sprint Posted: 17 Oct 2011 10:33 AM PDT Sprint customers have been waiting a long time to be able to buy the iPhone on the yellow network, and they came out in droves to purchase it when the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S finally became available for Sprint this past weekend. The carrier says it had its best ever first day sales on Friday, October 14, the day the two phones hit the shelves. "On Launch Day, October 14, Sprint reported its best ever day of sales in retail, web and telesales for a device family in Sprint history with the launch of iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. We reached this milestone at approximately noon CT. The response to this device by current and new customers has surpassed our expectations and validates our customers' desire for a truly unlimited data pricing plan," said Farid Adib, Product Chief at Sprint. Adobe PDF Reader app released for iPhone, iPad Posted: 17 Oct 2011 08:59 AM PDT The Adobe Reader PDF reading app is now available for the iPhone and iPad. Adobe has been able to integrate Reader into the iOS system, so users can open PDF files from the web or emails in the Reader app. Users can email PDF files with the app, print them with Apple's AirPrint service, or send them to another application. Reader for iOS is compatible with PDF portfolios, password-protected PDFs, and Adobe LiveCycle rights-managed PDFs. Adobe Reader for iOS is free and available in the iTunes App Store now. Samsung claims that a Galaxy S II has been sold for every second that has elapsed since its release earlier this year.
