The app looks much the same as the leaked version that we saw a while back, and is very similar in appearance to the iPhone version. Verizon's Mobile UC Client lets office drones connect to their desk phones on the go

Verizon Wireless has come out with a new service that allows office workers to access their desk phone's services right from their Android smartphones. The Mobile Unified Communications Client (Mobile UC) is an app that runs on a smartphone and effectively plugs it into an office's desk phone PBX.

Motorola releases ET1 Android tablet for enterprise users

Not Motorola, apparently, as it has announced the new ET1 Android tablet for the enterprise market. The ET1 runs a modified version of Android and will be offered to a variety of enterprise customers.

Verizon 4G LTE hits 22 new cities on October 20, 13 more on November 17

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE train keeps on chugging, as the carrier has announced that an additional 22 cities will get access to the high-speed wireless data network on October 20, with expansion in four additional cities. Following that, 13 more cities will get LTE service on November 17, and five cities will get expanded coverage at that time.

Samsung offers the Galaxy Wi-Fi 5.0, 3.6 multimedia devices in the UK

Samsung has announced that its Android-powered Galaxy Wi-Fi 5.0 and Galaxy Wi-Fi 3.6 media players are now available for purchase in the UK. Both are powered by 1GHz processors, feature Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and come with either 8 or 16GB of internal storage with support for microSD card expansion. The Galaxy Wi-Fi 5.0 costs 199GBP (US$312) for the 8GB model and 219GBP (US$343) for the 16GB model. It is available now in either black or white. The Galaxy Wi-Fi 3.6 will also be available in black or white when it hits shelves in November. It will cost 149GBP (US$234) for the 8GB version, and 169GBP (US$265) for the 16GB model.

Motorola and Verizon holding event on October 18, teasing four new products

Motorola has sent us an invitation to a Motorola and Verizon event to be held in New York City next week where the companies are expected to reveal a number of new products, and possibly the successor to the XOOM tablet. Along with the invite came a video that teased no less than four different products to be announced.

BlackBerry users see outages in Europe, Africa, Middle East

Reports are coming in from across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East saying that RIM's BlackBerry services are down, preventing users from browsing the web, checking email, or using BlackBerry Messenger. The problem seems to be stemming from a downed server located in Slough in the UK.

Windows Phone 7.5 will support 4G LTE, dual-core chips in the future

The head of Microsoft's mobile phone division, Andy Lees, has revealed that the Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone platform will indeed support 4G LTE connections and dual-core processors in the future, but not until the software is ready to handle the added capabilities of multiple processing cores and faster data connections.
