Adobe Flash 10.1 installation file leaked for Android 2.2 handsets

An Adobe Flash 10.1 installation file has been leaked by Droid-Life. The .apk file will apparently run on any device with Android 2.2 installed, and the software doesn't require a rooted Android device. Those comfortable enough installing .apk files can check it out at their own risk by visiting Droid-Life's website.

Analyst: Verizon iPhone details "still being ironed out"

An analyst with Kaufman Bros. says that Apple and Verizon are still ironing out the details, including the technology and economics, of Verizon offering the iPhone. It's speculation we've heard before, and as per other rumors, the analyst pegs a Verizon iPhone in either "2011 or 2012."

Virgin Mobile $40 unlimited data plan launches

In line with early speculation, today Virgin Mobile USA announced a new $40 Broadband2Go monthly unlimited data plan. The service compliments a cheaper $10 option which provides 100MB over 10 days. The new plans are available with Virgin Mobile's Ovation MC760 USB modem ($79.99) as well as its MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot ($149.99)

LG GW910 Windows Phone 7 touchscreen smartphone passes through the FCC

The FCC has approved the LG GW910, a Windows Phone 7 touchscreen smartphone. The phone features a QWERTY slide-out keyboard, what appears to be a front-facing camera, and 3G data support.

iPhone 4 to launch on China Unicom September 16, with free bumpers

According to sources from China Unicom, Apple's iPhone 4 is set to be available to the public starting September 16 and is expected to ship with bumpers to help alleviate antenna issues, which have been a thorn in Apple's side since the iPhone 4's launch. Currently China Unicom is the exclusive provider of Apple's iPhone and iPhone 3GS.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Android tablet spotted in video

What appears to be the Samsung Tab, Samsung's upcoming Android powered tablet, has been leaked. A member of Electronista recorded the device while riding on a train, and while the device isn't very clear in the video, the owner confirms that it is the 7-inch Samsung Tab.

iPhone Google Mobile App gains push functionality

The Google Mobile App software for Apple's iPhone has been updated with Gmail and Google Calendar push functionality. It will now alert you of new events and emails with a pop-up message and an icon badge. Google also added a few search enhancements.

Virgin Mobile USA to offer $40 unlimited data plan

Virgin Mobile USA has posted an image on its Facebook page showing off a new $40 Broadband2Go unlimited data plan. The plan will be compatible with the MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot device, as well as the Ovation MC760 USB modem. There's also a $10 data plan which offers 100MB for 10 days of use. Virgin Mobile USA currently offers four plans ranging from $10 for 100MB up to its $60 5GB plan, so its new offering would save Virgin Mobile USA users $20 per month.

Samsung Galaxy S firmware update voids Vodafone U.K. warranty

Samsung recently announced an official firmware update (JM1) for the Galaxy S. However, on Vodafone's forums, an administrator has said "Any firmware that hasn't been released by us does invalidate the warranty directly with Vodafone." To back up those claims, Vodafone's official statement on firmware related queries is: "Any device upgraded to a non Vodafone approved version of software which then becomes faulty may then not be covered by warranty." Those that have installed the update might want to revert to their original ROM. Samsung's manufacturer warranty is still valid, however.

AT&T myWireless Mobile app for Android lands on more phones

Today AT&T announced that its myWireless Mobile Android application is now available for the HTC Aria and the Samsung Captivate. MyWireless Mobile allows its users to view and pay their bills, check voice and data usage, add or remove features, and enroll in paperless billing. The application is available at http://www.att.com/myandroid and in AT&T section of your Android Market.

Motorola Milestone Android 2.2 Froyo update rolling out to Korea, Europe in Q4

Motorola has updated its Android Software Upgrade News page with details on when the Android 2.2 Froyo update will land on the Korean and European Milestone smartphone. Motorola says that the update is scheduled to initially roll out during the fourth quarter of this year. The Android 2.2 update for Latin America, Mexico, and Canada is still under evaluation.
