Vodafone U.K. iPhone 4 now available with pay-as-you-go plans Posted: 10 Aug 2010 05:20 AM PDT Vodafone's website has been updated with the iPhone as an option for its pay-as-you go plans. Vodafone offers the 32GB iPhone 4 for £570 ($900), the 16GB iPhone 4 for £480 ($758), and the 8GB iPhone 3GS for £385 ($608). Unfortunately, Vodafone U.K. is currently sold out of the iPhone 4. Copps, issued a statement in response to Verizon and Google's announcement on net neutrality. "Some will claim this announcement moves the discussion forward. That's one of its many problems. It is time to move a decision forward?a decision to reassert FCC authority over broadband telecommunications, to guarantee an open Internet now and forever, and to put the interests of consumers in front of the interests of giant corporations." Motorola to stop focusing on MOTOBLUR brand name Posted: 10 Aug 2010 04:41 AM PDT Speaking to investors during Motorola's Q2 2010 earnings call, Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha discussed MOTOBLUR and its importance to Motorola. "We have decided that we will focus on the value proposition of products and not MOTOBLUR as a brand name in its own right," Jha said. He added that MOTOBLUR continues to be important to Motorola, but that it's not going to be Motorola's focus going forward. MOTOBLUR has been an important part of Motorola's advertising push for its Android handsets, although the company didn't advertise the functionality in its most recent DROID X smartphone. BlackBerry Bold 9650 officially launching August 18 on U.S. Cellular Posted: 09 Aug 2010 02:35 PM PDT U.S. Cellular announced via its Facebook page that it will begin offering RIM's BlackBerry Bold 9650 smartphone starting on August 18. AT&T U-verse Mobile App for Apple iPhone provides TV content over-the-air, DVR management Posted: 09 Aug 2010 11:53 AM PDT AT&T today released its U-verse Mobile App, a piece of software that allows AT&T U-verse subscribers to download and watch TV content on their iPhones while on the go. It also lets you manage your DVR at home, so that you can schedule shows directly from your iPhone. TV show downloads erquire a WiFi connection.
