Samsung Behold II Android 1.6 OS update rolling out Posted: 22 Jun 2010 06:24 PM PDT T-Mobile USA has announced that its Samsung Behold II smartphone users should soon expect an over the air update that will bring their phones up to the 1.6 version of Android, which will allow for Google Maps Navigation and a host of other new features, but will fall short of what many Android 2.x devices now enjoy - like live wallpapers. Microsoft updates Bing for iPhone Posted: 22 Jun 2010 12:48 PM PDT Today Microsoft announced that it has updated Bing for iPhone. The application now includes a "Social Elements" feature which lets you view and respond to Twitter and Facebook networks, as well as view opinions from your social networks next to search results. It also includes a shopping feature which provides products with ratings, reviews, and prices. You can search for items in the shopping section by voice, keyboard, or camera. Bing also now provides movie reviews, trailers, clips, cast interviews, and theaters. Voice-guided search also allows you to search using your voice, much like Google offers with its search application. Read the full story here. |
Google Maps 4.3 for Android now offers transit schedules, restaurant reviews Posted: 22 Jun 2010 11:24 AM PDT Today Google announced Google Maps 4.3 for Android. The latest version allows you to view reviews on restaurants that you plan to visit, full with star ratings and user opinions on food, service, selection, and atmosphere. Google Maps 4.3 also includes upcoming schedules for any transit icon that you select on the map, including subways, trains, and buses that are leaving from the station. You can also now share your location easily with Google contacts by sending your a Latitude sharing request. Apple sells 3 million iPads in 80 days Posted: 22 Jun 2010 11:17 AM PDT Today Apple announced that it has sold its three millionth iPad, just 80 days after announcing the product in the U.S. Steve Jobs said that Apple is working hard to launch the product in nine new countries next month.
