Skype now available for Sony Ericsson's Symbian smartphones

Skype has announced that its chat application will now work on three Symbian smartphones manufactured by Sony Ericsson: the Satio, Vivaz, and Vivaz Pro. The free client lets Sony Ericsson Symbian smartphone owners place Skype calls over WiFi and GPRS/EDGE/3G mobile connections, send Skype messages, and share pictures and voice messages. The application can be downloaded at skype.com/m on a compatible handset, and will be available on the Sony Ericsson Play Now site later this month.

Samsung i8520 Galaxy Beam Android smartphone with projector announced in Singapore

AT&T apologizes to customers, explains Apple iPad security breach

Over the weekend AT&T began issuing apologies to its Apple iPad customers and explained a recent security breach that revealed email addresses of 114,000 iPad owners. In its letter AT&T explained the security breach and AT&T senior vice president Dorothy Attwood said "I am writing to let you know that no other ifnormationw as exposed and the matter has been resolved. We apologize for ht incident and any inconvenience it ma have caused. Rest assured, you can continue to use your AT&T 3G service on your iPad with confidence.

Radio Shack has announced that it is now offering the Palm Pre Plus with wireless service from AT&T. The webOS-powered Palm Pre Plus is a smartphone with Wi-Fi that comes equipped with a 3.1-inch touchscreen, 16GB of internal storage, and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Nokia X5 QWERTY slider S6 smartphone revealed

In Singapore today Nokia announced two new phones, including the X5 and the X6. Nokia's S60 3rd edition powered X5 offers a host of multimedia trimmings including a 5 megapixel camera and a 2GB microSD card. Nokia plans to launch it in Indonesia during the third quarter of 2010.
