Apple iPhone 4 sold out during busiest online sales day in AT&T history Posted: 16 Jun 2010 05:03 AM PDT Due to strong demand during Apple iPhone 4 preorders yesterday, AT&T said that it had sold out of the iPhone. Customers are still able to order it, but may receive their units later than June 24th. According to Engadget AT&T said: "Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder the iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We'll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24." Read the full story here. |
T-Mobile USA expands HSPA+ network to cover 25 major cities Posted: 16 Jun 2010 04:56 AM PDT Today T-Mobile USA announced that its HSPA+ network now covers over 25 major metropolitan areas, inclduing: Los Angeles; Dallas; Atlanta; Houston; Seattle; Tampa and Orlando, Fla.; Pittsburgh; Charlotte, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem, N.C.; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla.; New Orleans; and Charleston, S.C. T-Mobile hopes to expand even further, to over 100 markets, by the end of the year. T-Mobile has 15 3G devices that can take advantage of its HSPA+ network. Read the full story here. |

Verizon Wireless to debut new DROID smartphone on June 23rd Posted: 15 Jun 2010 01:59 PM PDT According to Barron's, Verizon Wireless is planning to debut a new Motorola DROID smartphone in New York on June 23. The event will be co-hosted by John Stratton, Verizon Wireless's marketing chief, Andy Rubin from Google, Motorola Co-CEO Sanjay Jha, and Shantanu Narayen, the CEO of Adobe. Free Starbucks WiFi powered by AT&T begins July 1 Posted: 15 Jun 2010 09:04 AM PDT Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said recently that beginning on July 1, Starbucks will offer one-click free WiFi in all of its U.S. stores. The service is powered by AT&T, and the goal is to provide a better in-store WiFi experience. Beginning in the Fall, Starbucks will also turn on its free Starbucks Digital Network, which will provide free access to WSJ.com and other paid-sites. Read the full story here. |
RadioShack offering $100 for iPhone 3G, $200 for iPhone 3GS in good condition Posted: 15 Jun 2010 08:58 AM PDT RadioShack announced that it will accept trade-ins for the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS for store-credit gift cards provided that they are in good condition. It will pay $100 for the iPhone 3G and $200 for the iPhone 3GS (16GB and 32GB) beginning June 24th and through July 25th. RadioShack says that "good condition," means that the phone has no water damage or screen cracks. You can have your phone appraised at a local RadioShack store. Read the full story here. |
T-Mobile USA offering free phones to new family plan subscribers on June 19th Posted: 15 Jun 2010 08:52 AM PDT T-Mobile USA has said that it will offer free phones to anyone who signs up for a new family plan, with at least two new lines, on June 19th, according to the Associated Press. The promotion will begin at 9am and current customers can take advantage of it by converting their single line into a family plan, or by adding new lines to an existing family plan. White Apple iPhone 4G unavailable for preorder Posted: 15 Jun 2010 08:46 AM PDT Today Apple started its Apple iPhone 4G preorders. Oddly, the white version of the device, which is available in both 16Gb and 32GB flavors, is not yet available for preorder for a June 24th pickup.
