Sprint corrects HTC EVO 4G sales figures Posted: 09 Jun 2010 05:31 AM PDT On June 7th Sprint issued a press release that said sales of the HTC EVO 4G were so strong that Sprint sold three times the amount of phones on launch day as it did with the Palm Pre and the Instinct combined. An updated press release from Sprint says that the company "inadvertently erred in the comparison. The total number of HTC EVO 4G devices sold on launch day was in line with the number of Samsung Instinct and Palm Pre devices sold over their first days on the market combined." TnP allows you to locate you phone if stolen, and remotely take photos, initiate calls, lock or wipe the phone, and even sound an alarm. Swype Beta QWERTY touchscreen keyboard for Android updated Posted: 08 Jun 2010 11:44 AM PDT Today Swype announced an updated version of its Swype touchscreen QWERTY keyboard. The latest version adds better sensitivity for the "magic button," for searching, entering, or adding a smiley face. There's now automatic apostrophe insertions for contractions as well. Swype also improved the sensing of specific field types, added the Italian language dictionary, updated the English dictionary, and fixed a number of bugs. Apple licensing iOS name from Cisco Systems Posted: 08 Jun 2010 06:20 AM PDT Like it does with the iPhone name, Apple is also licensing the iOS name of its iPhone operating system from Cisco Systems. iOS 4 is a new name that will replace Apple's "iPhone OS" moniker, and it is the operating system that will power the new iPhone 4 as well as older versions of the device. Cisco's own IOS is used on some of its hardware devices. Apple also received the FaceTime trademark from a company called FaceTime Communications, which is planning to change its name.
