Verizon Wireless V CAST Video lands on Android smartphones

As we reported last week, Verizon Wireless today is officially launching its V CAST Video service for Android smartphones. The application is available from the Verizon channel in the Android market, and provides access to clips from over 40 major broadcast networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. The service is available for all of Verizon Wireless' Android smartphones and costs $10 per month on top of your regular Verizon Wireless data plan.

AT&T now offering the rugged Samsung SGH-a847 Rugby II phone

Starting today, the Samsung SGH-a847 Rugby II is available on AT&T Wireless. The Rugby II meets the Mil-STD-810G standard for resistance to dust, vibration, and water. This push-to-talk device also comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, aGPS, 70MB of internal storage, and support for up to 32GB microSD cards. It also has a 2.2-inch display and a 1300mAh battery that Samsung claims is good for up to at least 3 hours of talk time. The Rugby II is available today online for $99.99 with a two-year service agreement.
