Canadian retailers begin discounts on BlackBerry PlayBook Posted: 23 Sep 2011 08:59 AM PDT Retailers across Canada have begun discounting RIM's ill-received BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, with prices dropping by as much as 50 percent from the original MSRP. RIM had stated that it would be offering discount programs on the tablet during its last earnings call a week ago, and it looks like these are first pieces of evidence to support that. Oracle says complaint against Google is for $1.16 billion Posted: 23 Sep 2011 08:28 AM PDT Yesterday, we reported that Oracle had amended its damages complaint against Google for Java patent violations in the Android operating system to just over $2 billion, down from an original $6.1 billion. It turns out that the $2 billion number was what Google said that Oracle claimed, but Oracle's actual numbers are bit less. Read the full story here. |

Apple holds 89 percent retention rate with iPhone buyers Posted: 23 Sep 2011 05:17 AM PDT According to a new study of smartphone owners by UBS, a staggering 89 percent of iPhone owners said that they would purchase an iPhone as their next smartphone as well.
