LightSquared offers amended plan for LTE network

If you have been following the story of LightSquared's yet-to-be-approved LTE network, you would know that the company has faced intense opposition from the GPS industry, which claims that the proposed network would interfere with GPS services. LightSquared has contested these claims, and even pointed the blame at the GPS industry itself, but it still has not been given approval for its network by the authorities. In light of this, the company has proposed an amended plan that it claims will provide the least amount of interference.

Sprint has released a new mobile hotspot device that allows users to connect to the internet across the globe. The generically-named International Mobile Hotspot is built by ZTE, and appears to be a rebranding of the Fivespot released for Verizon Wireless last year.

Consumer Cellular offers Motorola BRAVO smartphone contract-free

Consumer Cellular, the wireless provider for the AARP and the 50+ set, has announced that it will be carrying the Motorola BRAVO smartphone. The BRAVO sports a 3.7-inch, FWVGA (480 x 854 pixel) display, a 3 megapixel camera, and is powered by an 800MHz processor. Consumer Cellular did not reveal what version of Android the BRAVO would feature, but the version carried by AT&T runs Android 2.2 Froyo. Consumer Cellular will be offering the BRAVO for $200 without a contract commitment.

Sprint to retain unlimited data plan when it gets the iPhone say sources

According to "people familiar with the matter" reporting to Bloomberg, Sprint will still offer an unlimited data plan when it gets the Apple iPhone later this year. It has been rumored that Sprint would carry the next iPhone to be released in October when AT&T and Verizon Wireless are expected to get it.

German court upholds ban on sales of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, again

A regional court in Dusseldorf, Germany has upheld the previous ban on sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the country. This decision is the latest victory for Apple in its case against Samsung where it claims the Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets infringe on its design patents.
