Next version of Android rumored to be called "Jelly Bean"

This Is My Next has received a tip that claims that the next version of Android after Ice Cream Sandwich could be called Jelly Bean. Unfortunately, there is no information as to what version number Google might give this update, and we still don't know what the official version number will be for the previously-announced Ice Cream Sandwich when it is released.

Netflix for Android updated to work on all Android 2.2, 2.3 devices

Netflix for Android has been updated and is now compatible with any smartphone or tablet that runs Android 2.2 Froyo or 2.3 Gingerbread. Previously, Netflix was only available for devices that were listed as officially compatible by the content provider.

AT&T files response to the DoJ's lawsuit

AT&T has filed a response to the Department of Justice's lawsuit to block the carrier's proposed purchase of T-Mobile. In the response, AT&T makes the claim that the Department of Justice did not describe the competition in the wireless market accurately, and that T-Mobile is currently not a competitive threat against AT&T.

Straight Talk's Android smartphones to use Sprint's network

Sprint has confirmed that pre-paid carrier Straight Talk's Android line of devices, which currently only consists of the Samsung Precedent, will run on Sprint's CDMA network, as opposed to AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon Wireless. Straight Talk, which is owned by Tracfone, has other devices that run on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon's networks, but apparently, all Android phones that it carries will use Sprint's network.
