Cellular South joins Justice Department in lawsuit against AT&T

Regional carrier Cellular South has joined the Justice Department in its effort to block the purchase of T-Mobile USA by AT&T by filing its own lawsuit to stop the acquisition. Cellular South's suit was filed as a "related case" to the existing lawsuits from the Justice Department, Sprint, and a number of states.

LG LU6200 (Optimus LTE?) spotted in the wild with 720p display

Some photos of an Android smartphone that is thought to be called the LG Optimus LTE have surfaced on the internet. The device, which appears to have an internal model name of LG LU6200, boasts a massive 4.5-inch display with a native 720p HD (720 x 1280 pixel) resolution.

Google shuts down Pool Party app on October 14

Google's Pool Party app, a product of the now-defunct Slide team, will be shutdown on October 14. Pool Party was a group image sharing app that allowed users to upload photos to various "pools" of friends all at once. It never made it to a widespread launch, as only early adopters with invites were able to gain access to it. Google plans to shut down the other Slide-developed apps, Disco and Photovine, in the near future. Those who were able to get into Pool Party will be able to download their images from the app's website until October 14.

LG partners with Capcom to offer Street Fighter IV on HD smartphones

LG and Capcom have announced a new partnership that will result in Street Fighter IV for Android being exclusively available on upcoming LG smartphones. While it is nice to see the game finally arrive for Android, what is more interesting is the mention of a yet-to-be-revealed "HD smartphone" in the Capcom announcement.
