LG Thrill 4G 3D smartphone hits AT&T on September 4 Posted: 29 Aug 2011 02:10 PM PDT AT&T has finally put a date on the long-awaited LG Thrill 4G smartphone, and has announced that it will be arriving on AT&T's network on September 4. The Thrill 4G is AT&T's version of the LG Optimus 3D that was released in Europe a few months ago. It sports a dual-core processor with dual-channel memory, and has a glasses-free, 4.3-inch 3D display. Oh yes, and it has dual 5 megapixel cameras for 3D still and video capture. Motorola Milestone 3 headed to Latin America next month Posted: 29 Aug 2011 01:13 PM PDT Motorola has announced that the GSM version of the DROID 3 smartphone, the Milestone 3, will be making its way to seven Latin American countries in September. Brazil will get an early crack at the device, as it is scheduled to go on sale there starting today, and then the other six countries will get it next month. The Milestone 3 sports a 4-inch, qHD (540 x 960 pixel) display, a 1GHz, dual-core processor, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It also has a 5-row, slide-out QWERTY keyboard. As with the versions for the other models, use of the tool will allow users to unlock the bootloader and load custom software on the phone, and at the same time void any warranties that the phone might have. U.S. Cellular promises Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for Samsung Mesmerize Posted: 29 Aug 2011 11:25 AM PDT The Samsung Mesmerize is one of the last of the original variants of the Galaxy S that has yet to receive an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but that is soon to change according to U.S. Cellular. Posted on the carrier's official Facebook page is a note that the Mesmerize will get the Gingerbread update "as soon as possible." OnStar adds navigation function to RemoteLink mobile app Posted: 29 Aug 2011 11:04 AM PDT OnStar has updated its RemoteLink mobile app for the iPhone and Android smartphones with a new navigation function. Unlike traditional navigation apps that provide turn-by-turn directions on the phone itself, the RemoteLink navigation function sends the directions to an OnStar-equipped car, where they are then provided to the driver.
