White HP TouchPad available to order in U.S.

Despite receiving the mark of death from HP CEO Leo Apotheker yesterday, the white version of the HP TouchPad tablet that debuted in HP's European webstore yesterday has now been made available to order for U.S. customers. If you recall, this "el blanco" edition of the TouchPad packs 64GB of storage and a faster, dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. While the future of the TouchPad and webOS as a whole is definitely up in the air at this point, those who have been waiting for a white version of the troubled Tablet to show up can now order one for $599.

Foursquare adds event check-ins for iPhone users

This week Foursquare has expanded its location-based check-in system to include events such as concerts, movies, and sports games. When a major event is happening at a particular location, users will be able to check-in directly to the event and tell their friends all about it.

Apple caught doctoring more photos in Samsung case

Following the news from a few days back that Apple altered a photo of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to make it look more like the iPad in the court submissions for its case against Samsung, more images have been revealed that show tampering with photos of Samsung products or inaccurate representations of what Samsung devices look like.

Sprint could buy out remainder of Clearwire

According to a Bloomberg report, Sprint is in high-level talks to buy out the part of Clearwire that it doesn't already own. Sprint is allegedly planning to use investments from cable companies to fund the buyout.

Cellphone radiation may reduce sperm count claims study

A new report compiled by the Italian Journal of Andrology points to evidence that prolonged exposure to cellphone radiation or the heat produced by cellphones could result in lower sperm count and damaged sperm cells in men. The report consists of several studies conducted on both animal and human subjects.

HTC EVO 3D bootloader unlock tool now available from HTC

It's been just a few short days since HTC made the bootloader unlock tool available for European versions of its Sensation smartphone, but now owners of the EVO 3D on Sprint can join the party as well. The unlocking tool for the EVO 3D has been made available on HTC's developer website. It requires that users download the latest over-the-air software update for their phones, and it will, of course, void any and all warranties. Cue the custom ROM explosion for the EVO 3D in 3..2..1..

HP still committed to webOS, just not the hardware

According to info obtained by This Is My Next, HP held an emergency meeting with staff in the webOS hardware and software divisions yesterday to discuss its plans for the troubled mobile operating system. Executives promised employees that HP was not "walking away from webOS," though it is unclear what that means exactly at this point.

RIM reportedly working on streaming music service for BlackBerry Messenger

In what seems to be an effort to compete with the Zune Pass, Google Music, Amazon Cloud Player, and iTunes services of the world, RIM is reportedly working on a streaming music service that is integrated with its BlackBerry Messenger service. BBM Music, as it has apparently been named, could make its debut as early as next week.
