Android 3.2 Honeycomb update being pushed to Verizon Motorola XOOMs now

The Android 3.2 Honeycomb update for the Motorola XOOM is now being delivered to the 3G (not yet 4G) version of the tablet available from Verizon Wireless. Android 3.2 adds a few new features, such as screen scaling compatibility mode for non-tablet optimized apps, read support for microSD cards, and improvements to movie rentals and playback. Users can download the update from the System Update section of the Settings app.

HTC has another record sales month in July

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC posted another record month of sales in July. The company grew its sales 83.3 percent from July 2010, and sales increased slightly over the previous month.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 headed to Three UK

In addition to the BlackBerry Bold 9900, Three UK has announced that it will be carrying another of RIM's latest smartphones, the BlackBerry Torch 9810. The Torch 9810 features a 3.2-inch, VGA touchscreen and a slide-out portrait QWERTY keyboard. Three did not provide an exact release date or pricing information at this time.

FBI's first iPhone app helps find missing children

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has released its first mobile app, called Child ID. It is designed to help parents provide information to authorities about their child should the child ever go missing and need to be located.
