Microsoft inks patent deal with small Android manufacturer

Android Market updated with more details for app ratings

Google has updated the Android Market website with more details on ratings that users have given to apps. The Android Market will now show a number for how many times each star rating has been given to the app, and will provide a numerical score based on the ratings given. This feature has not made it down to the Android Market on smartphones and tablets just yet, but it may make it there eventually, as many of the new Android Market features that debut on the web do.

Motorola TRIUMPH pre-paid smartphone up for pre-order at Best Buy

Remember the Motorola TRIUMPH, the decidedly high-end Android smartphone that was announced for Virgin Mobile earlier this month? Well, now it looks like we are getting that much closer to when the 4.1-inch-screen-packing, Android 2.2 Froyo handset will hit the market as Best Buy has put up the phone for pre-order on its website. The price is listed at $299.99, which may seem like a lot until you remember that Virgin Mobile does not require any service contracts. Best Buy anticipates getting the TRIUMPH in stock the week of July 19th, so we shouldn't be that far away from an official announcement from Virgin Mobile.
