HTC Sensation 4G headed to Canada's Virgin Mobile too

Not to be left out of the Sensation 4G party, Virgin Mobile in Canada has announced that it too will be carrying HTC's dual-core superphone. Details, like launch date and price, are scant right now, but Virgin promises to let us know more soon. Looks like Canadians will have a number of options when it comes to high-end smartphones in the near future.

Motorola puts brakes on DROID 2 Global Gingerbread update

Despite Verizon Wireless' announcement that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Motorola DROID 2 Global is rolling out to users now, Motorola has said that the update is not ready and is not available. Speaking on its support forums, a Motorola representative said that the update is not rolling out anytime soon and that there is no date given as to when it will be available for users. Sad news for owners of the DROID 2 Global who had gotten their hopes up, though this isn't the first time an update has seen rocky starts.

HTC Sensation 4G headed to Canada on Bell

While Rogers' users in Canada might be excited for the Samsung Infuse 4G, a new information page on rival Bell's website confirms that the HTC Sensation 4G will be headed to the Great White North too. The Sensation 4G was just released this week for T-Mobile in the U.S., and has been available in Europe for a few weeks now. No word on an exact release date for Bell, but the company is running a contest to win 1 of 10 Sensation 4Gs that will be drawn on July 12. Interested customers can head over to Bell's site to enter the drawing.

Cellular South nabs HTC 7 Pro Windows Phone 7 smartphone too

Cellular South has announced that it, too, will be carrying the HTC 7 Pro Windows Phone 7 smartphone. The 7 Pro is the first Windows Phone 7 device for Cellular South, and features a 3.6-inch tilting touchscreen with a slide-out keyboard and a 5 megapixel camera. It is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The 7 Pro is available from Cellular South today for $199.99 after rebate with a new two-year agreement. The 7 Pro originally debuted on Sprint earlier this year as the Arrive, and recently became available on U.S. Cellular as well.

Angry Birds sees 1 million downloads per day; productivity at all time low

Peter Vesterbecka, CEO of Rovio, has let it be known that the immensely popular Angry Birds game is now downloaded at a rate of 1 million times per day. The firm recently announced that the game has been downloaded a total of 250 million times across the many platforms that it is available on. Rovio recently released an update to both the Angry Birds and Angry Birds Rio versions of the game.

Nokia's Windows Phone models will hit 6 European markets first

Nokia has revealed that six countries in Europe will be the first markets to receive Windows Phone powered Nokia handsets when they arrive. France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK will be among the lucky first to get their hands on a love child from Nokia and Microsoft's budding relationship. Nokia also confirmed once again that the first Nokia device with Windows Phone will ship before the end of 2011. Notably missing from the list of launch countries? Nokia's homeland of Finland.

LG reminds us the Optimus 3D is due in the next few weeks

LG has issued a press release to remind everyone about the Optimus 3D smartphone that it plans on eventually releasing.
