Motorola ATRIX 4G drops to $100 at AT&T Posted: 08 Jun 2011 05:47 AM PDT AT&T has dropped the price of Motorola's first dual-core smartphone, the ATRIX 4G, to just $99.99 on-contract. The ATRIX 4G features a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and a qHD (540 x 960 pixel) touchscreen with Android 2.2 Froyo running the show. Unfortunately, it looks like the optional Lapdock, which converts the ATRIX 4G into a laptop of sorts, will still set you back a few hundred dollars - along with a mandatory monthly tethering fee. RIM purchases mobile social gaming developer Scoreloop Posted: 07 Jun 2011 01:55 PM PDT Research In Motion today announced that it has acquired mobile gaming developer Scoreloop. The German based company provides developer toolkits that add social networking elements to mobile games. Scoreloop works with multiple mobile platforms that include Apple's iOS, Microsoft's Windows Phone 7, and Google's Android as well as RIM's BlackBerry OS. AT&T to help its subscribers reclaim $950 million in taxes Posted: 07 Jun 2011 12:43 PM PDT As part of a settlement for a class action suit, AT&T will attempt to recoup taxes, which it paid to state and local authorities, that were improperly collected from the carrier's customers. AT&T-compatible HTC Sensation spotted on the FCC website Posted: 07 Jun 2011 09:19 AM PDT A site named Wireless Goodness has discovered that an AT&T compatible version of HTC's Pyramid smartphone has appeared on the FCC website. The Pyramid, which is better known in this country as the HTC Sensation 4G for T-Mobile USA, is a dual-core Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display. While the device listed on the FCC site is compatible with AT&T's network, bear in mind that it is not uncommon for devices that are never marketed in the U.S. to show up on the FCC website. This could simply be a case of a device for Canada's Fido or Rogers getting U.S. approval - but we've got our fingers crossed. Read the full story here. |
