In addition to the new post-paid individual and family plans that T-Mobile released today, the fourth-place carrier also unveiled new pre-paid monthly plan options. The new plans are called monthly4G and do not require a contract.

Video: Motorola DROID X2 video tour - part 1 of 2

The Motorola DROID X2 for Verizon Wireless is an update of the original X that got a major bump in screen resolution and the addition of a dual-core 1GHz processor. On top of the new higher specs (and the loss of the camera shutter button), the only other real changes are in some of the software, such as the main menu and some new widgets.

Toshiba Android tablet listed for pre-order, named Thrive

We haven't heard much about Toshiba's upcoming Android tablet recently, but if a pre-order page from retailer J&R is to be believed, it will be called the Thrive and priced at $449.99 for an 8GB version and $579.99 for a 32GB version. Listed specs are par for the course for an Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet, and include a 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800 pixel screen, a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and 1GB of RAM. The Thrive also features a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. No data is provided regarding the actual release date, but we imagine it can't be too far off.

INQ partners with Foursquare for custom Android homescreens

INQ has announced a new deal with Foursquare to bring location based services to its Cloud Touch smartphone. The Cloud Touch was released earlier this year and focuses on deep Facebook integration for the user. The new partnership with Foursquare will add location based social network services in addition to the Facebook integration.

In addition to bringing 4G LTE service to the previously announced market of Harrisburg, PA., Verizon Wireless has announced that State College, PA; Dayton and Springfield, Ohio; greater Hartford, Conn.; Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, and more of metro Detriot, Mich.; Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, Ind.; Greenville and Spartanburg, SC; and Madison, Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosh, and Wisconsin Dells, Wis. will all receive 4G LTE coverage on June 16.
