The Wildfire S is an Android Gingerbread smartphone that features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera and camcorder, and HTC's Sense user interface. This Android tablet will run you 750 GBP and comes SIM-free. The tablet features an 8.9-inch touchscreen display and runs Google's Android 3.0 Gingerbread operating system. It also offers dual 5 megapixel cameras for 3D video content and sports a forward facing camera for video chats. NVIDIA loses profits, looks to Tegra line to recover them Posted: 13 May 2011 09:03 AM PDT NVIDIA has reported a decline in both revenues and profits for the first quarter of 2011. Revenue has fallen 4 percent, to just under $1 billion. Despite the losses, the chip maker is looking forward to a rebound in the second quarter, spurred on by its Tegra line of mobile processors. The Tegra 2 processor is the reference chip for all Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets, and is found in the Motorola ATRIX 4G and LG Optimus 2X/G2x smartphones. NVIDIA's recent acquisition of Icera will allow it to produce a system-on-chip that is capable of competing directly with Qualcomm's popular Snapdragon system. Read the full story here. |

Judge awards Kodak a victory in Apple patent suit Posted: 13 May 2011 07:35 AM PDT A judge for the ITC has said that Kodak did not infringe upon Apple's patents on digital camera technology this week. This is just one victory in the ongoing court battles for the photo company, who has sued RIM for patent infringement while defending itself against Apple. Nokia X7 to hit Three UK in June Posted: 13 May 2011 06:49 AM PDT It appears that Three UK will be getting the latest smartphone to come out of Finland sometime in June, as the carrier has teased the arrival of the Nokia X7 on its website. The X7 was announced in April, and features a 4-inch, AMOLED display and an 8 megapixel camera. The latest version of Symbian, dubbed Anna, will be on-tap as well. Three confirmed that it will be carrying the X7 when it was announced, though this is the first reference to any sort of availability date that we have seen. Read the full story here. |
Google Docs web editing now works on webOS Posted: 13 May 2011 06:23 AM PDT Users of webOS on Palm Pre and Pixie smartphones have not been able to take advantage of the editing capabilities of Google Docs that Android and iOS users have had access to for over six months. It appears that Google has enabled editing for the webOS browser now though, as users on both webOS 1.4.5 and 2.1 now have the capability to edit documents in Google Docs. There is a warning saying that the browser is unsupported, but most everything works, save for cloud printing and some other minor functions. Amazon CEO teases plans for a tablet Posted: 13 May 2011 05:43 AM PDT In an interview with Amazon's CEO, Jeff Bezos, Consumer Reports prodded the executive of the company's future plans in personal electronics. When asked about a tablet that does more that just act as an e-reader, Bezos said "stay tuned." He did go on to say that the company will always want a dedicated e-reader, so any new product would likely appear alongside the Kindle, not supplant it. Read the full story here. |
