Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 "copy and paste" delay explained

Posted: 12 Mar 2011 06:55 AM PST

Following the announcement of the Windows Phone 7 "copy and paste" update delay, the Windows Phone Blog published a post giving some insight into what we can expect from this and the next update, as well as an explanation for update issues in the past. Originally, Microsoft pledged to deliver the "copy and paste" update during the first half of March, but problems with the previous update seem to have the folks at Microsoft a little hesitant to send out the next. "I believe it's important that we learn all we can from the February update," said Eric Hautala of the Windows Phone Blog. "So I've decided to take some extra time to ensure the update process meets our standards, your standards, and the standards of our partners." To that end, the WP7 "copy and paste" update, which also includes better Marketplace search, will now be delivered during the latter half of March. However, the post promised that the next update, announced at Mobile World Congress, will arrive on time complete with multitasking, a Twitter feature, and an HTML 5-compatible version of Internet Explorer Mobile.
