Samsung claims 10 million sales of Galaxy S III smartphone so far

According to executives speaking to the Yonhap news agency, Samsung has hit the 10 million sales mark with its new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III. The company had predicted to hit the milestone by the end of July, and it expects to nearly double the figure by this fall.

ITC dismisses Kodak's patent complaint against Apple, RIM

Kodak has lost another battle in its patent fight against Apple and RIM, as the U.S. International Trade Commission has dismissed the imaging company's complaint against the two smartphone manufacturers. The ITC agreed with a lower court's earlier decision that neither Apple or RIM violated Kodak's patents with their devices.

Beats Audio buys back controlling stake from HTC; HTC to maintain mobile exclusivity

Last year, HTC surprised the mobile industry when it announced a $300 million deal that would give it controlling stake in the Beats Audio company and allow HTC to exclusively feature Beats Audio technology in its smartphones and tablets. Many questioned whether supposedly improved audio in mobile devices was worth $300 million, and it appears that HTC eventually realized this as well, as the company has sold back to Beats half of the shares it purchased last year.
