Court temporarily lifts ban on Google Galaxy Nexus in the U.S. Posted: 06 Jul 2012 02:08 PM PDT Samsung may have to deal with the continued ban on sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, but the federal appeals court decided to the lift the ban on sales of the Google Galaxy Nexus smartphone today. The suspension of the ban will only last until Apple files a formal response and the court decides whether or not the ban will remain in effect throughout the trial between Samsung and Apple. Google pulled the Galaxy Nexus from its online store earlier this week, and it has promised that it will be back on sale next week with a software update that will circumvent the patent infringement. Samsung's appeal of Galaxy Tab 10.1 ban denied by court Posted: 06 Jul 2012 01:51 PM PDT The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will remain banned from sale in the U.S. for the time being, as the U.S. Court of Appeals has denied Samsung's request for a stay on the ban. The tablet was banned from sale late last month ahead of the patent infringement trial between Apple and Samsung. Samsung's initial request for a lift on the ban was denied by the presiding judge over the case earlier this week, and now the Court of Appeals has also denied the company's request. Apple accused Samsung of "slavishly copying" the design of its iPad tablet with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 last year. The trial between the two companies is due to begin at the end of this month. Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone now available from AT&T Posted: 06 Jul 2012 12:48 PM PDT Starting today, you can now walk into an AT&T store and pick up a brand-new Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. The carrier is offering the 16GB version of the phone in either Marble White or Pebble Blue for $199.99 with a new two-year contract. The Galaxy S III features a 4.8-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung's TouchWiz interface. It also has support for AT&T's 4G LTE network. Customers can pick up the phone at AT&T's retail locations or through the carrier's online store.
