Verizon backtracks, drops plans for $2 bill-payment fee

Only 24 hours after the story first broke that Verizon Wireless would charge a $2 fee to customers that chose to pay their bills via one-time credit card transactions, the carrier has announced that those plans have been scrapped.

Verizon's $2 bill-payment fee catches FCC's attention

Verizon Wireless didn't make any friends this week when it announced that starting January 15, 2012, it would be charging customers $2 to pay their bill on the phone or online when they use a credit card. The commotion over the proposed fee has caught the attention of the Federal Communications Commission, which has said it will investigate the surcharge.

Verizon explains 4G LTE network issues as "growing pains"
