Microsoft addressing Windows Phone SMS flaw Posted: 14 Dec 2011 05:01 AM PST Microsoft has confirmed that it is aware of the SMS flaw in Windows Phone that reportedly allows a Windows Phone 7.5 device to be compromised by a specially worded text or IM chat message."We are aware of the issue and our engineering teams are examining it now," said a Microsoft spokesperson. "Once we have more details, we will take appropriate action to help ensure customers are protected." SiriusXM adds time-shifting to iOS app Posted: 14 Dec 2011 04:37 AM PST Satellite music provider SiriusXM is now offering DVR-like time shifting abilities in its native iOS application. The app now allows users to go back up to 5 hours on any SiriusXM Internet Radio channels. It also gives users the ability to start shows from the beginning, pause live radio, and rewind and fast forward previously aired programs. SiriusXM also notes that the app includes bug fixes and Show Finder, which lets users find and set alerts for favorite shows. Skype updates Android app with photo/video sharing Posted: 13 Dec 2011 10:31 AM PST Skype has released a new version of its Android app that lets users share photos and videos captured with their smartphone or tablet with other Skype users over chat messages. The new version also features improved battery life and video quality on devices with NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor (most Android 3.x Honeycomb tablets and a few smartphones).
