AT&T reportedly having difficulties selling T-Mobile assets Posted: 19 Dec 2011 05:14 AM PST According to sources reporting to the Wall Street Journal, AT&T has hit yet another snag in its efforts to acquire T-Mobile, as it is now having difficulty selling T-Mobile assets to other carriers. Sprint releases BlackBerry OS 7.1 upgrade for Bold 9930, Torch 9850 Posted: 18 Dec 2011 08:08 AM PST It appears that Sprint is the first major U.S. carrier out of the gate to provide an upgrade to BlackBerry OS 7.1 for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 smartphones. Following reports from last week that users were getting notifications that the update was ready to be downloaded and installed on their devices, Sprint and RIM have now posted the update online for all to download and install. The update is contained within a Windows executable file, so Mac users will have to wait for the over-the-air upgrade for now. The upgrade to BlackBerry OS 7.1 doesn't have that much to offer over BlackBerry 7, but it does add mobile hotspot functionality - a first for BlackBerry smartphones. Head on over to RIM's site to download the update package and enjoy the new mobile hotspot capabilities. We don't have any info on when the update will be available from other carriers, but we assume that it won't be too long before all Bold 9900/9930 and Torch 9850/9860 owners will be able to use the mobile hotspot function.
