Video: Nokia C7 Symbian smartphone review - part 1 of 2

The Nokia C7 smartphone is powered by the Symbian^3 smartphone OS and features an nHD (640 x 360 pixel) capacitive touchscreen display and an 8 megapixel camera that can record HD video. It has 8GB of built-in storage and a microSD memory card slot that can be used for 32GB more. James Tromans takes a look at if for us in this two part video series.

Android Gingerbread may soon offer Google Music sync

A leaked screenshot from what's claimed to be an Android 2.3 Gingerbread shows the option to sync the phone with Google Music, a yet unannounced feature that could be in the works.

Apple App Store nearing 10 billion total downloads

Apple's App Store is closing in on 10 billion total application downloads. According to Mobile Crunch, Apple is planning to give away a $10,000 gift card to the person that makes the 10 billionth download. Apple did the same thing when it passed the 1 billion mark in April 2009. As of this post, Apple's app store had over 9.76 billion apps downloaded.

Nokia X7 Symbian^3 smartphone may launch on AT&T this month

The Nokia X7 has been leaked in photos showing AT&T branding. Rumor has it this Symbian^3 smartphone could launch as soon as this month. Other specs include a 640 x 360 pixel display and an 8MP camera.

Hands-on with the ViewSonic ViewPad 4 smartphone

ViewSonic officially took the wraps off the ViewPad 4, an Android smartphone running on Google's Android 2.2 operating system during CES in Las Vegas last week. The ViewPad 4 offers a 4.1-inch screen and is powered by Qualcomm's 1GHz MSM8255 processor. Here are some photos of the device from our hands-on.

BlackBerry Storm 3 spotted with 1.2GHz processor, HD video support

Another BlackBerry was leaked today. This time it's the Storm 3, and the leak includes an image and specs of the phone. It could launch in September, and offers a 1.2GHz processor, HD video recording support, a 3G Mobile Hotspot feature, and a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 pixel display.

LG exec says WP7 launch didn't meet expectations

James Choi, the marketing strategy and planning team director over at LG, recently sat down with Pocket-Lint for an interview. During the interview he noted that sales of LG Windows Phone 7 devices didn't quite meet LG's high expectations. "From an industry perspective we had a high expectation, but from a consumer point of view the visibility is less than we expected," Choi said. He still believes that Windows Phone 7 is perfect for a "huge segment of people out there," and says that LG thinks there are people out there that think some operating systems " mainly Google [Android], are extremely complicated for them," and that WP7 is easier to use. We'll see if LG expands on its WP7 portfolio at all during the Mobile World Congress tradeshow next month, which we'll be attending.

TeleNav Navigator 6.2 for AT&T Android phones now available

Today TeleNav announced a new update to its Android client for AT&T smartphones. The software now provides multiple route selections, predictive quick search, speech recognition, and a larger amount of points-of-interest (POIs). TeleNav now offers 22 million POIs consisting of businesses, historical landmarks, and more. The software is available in the Android Market now.
