HP Palm to ship new product weeks after February 9 launch Posted: 28 Jan 2011 09:56 AM PST HP's CEO, Leo Apotheker, recently sat down for an interview with the BBC. He said that HP is changing the way it announces products and that, in the future, it will ship new products weeks after announcing them. While we expect HP Palm to announce the Topaz, a webOS tablet, during its February 9 press event, Apotheker says HP has another announcement up its sleeves which it will reveal on March 14. Samsung reports strong Q4 2010 earnings, may have sold 2 million Galaxy Tab units Posted: 28 Jan 2011 08:03 AM PST Samsung has reported its Q4 2010 earnings. It sold 80.7 million mobile devices during the year, and there are unconfirmed reports that it has sold 2 million of its Android-powered Galaxy Tab units since launch. The Continuum is a dual display Android device and is now receiving an OTA update that addresses a host of bugs, including improved visual voice mail, added functionality for messaging, camera fixes, improved voice dialing, and more. Apple outs iTunes 10.1.2 with CDMA iPhone 4 support Posted: 28 Jan 2011 06:32 AM PST Apple has released iTunes version 10.1.2 which adds support for Verizon's CDMA iPhone 4. The software update specifically says "iTunes 10.1.2 syncs music, movies, and more with iPhone 4 (CDMA model)" and some believe that, since Apple just calls it a "CDMA model," there's room for speculation that the iPhone may hit other CDMA carriers. Verizon launches VZ Navigator VX 3D navigation software Posted: 28 Jan 2011 06:23 AM PST Today Verizon Wireless launched a new version of its VZ Navigator GPS software called "VZ Navigator VX." The new version is available for the DROID X, DROID Incredible, and Samsung Fascinate. It provides 3D navigation using enhanced 3D City models paired with accurate images of exit signs and highway. The software supports 3D models of six cities including Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Kansas City, New York, and Washington, D.C. and more cities will be added.
