Amazon Kindle sales up 177 percent in Q4 2011 Posted: 31 Jan 2012 01:21 PM PST Amazon just released its Q4 2011 financial results, and while it didn't reveal exactly how many Kindle Fire tablets (or even how many Kindles in total) were sold during the holiday shopping season, it did say that Kindle device sales were up 177 percent over last year. This impressive growth was most certainly spurred on by the popularity of the Kindle Fire, though Amazon's Kindle Touch and basic Kindle e-readers were surely popular as well (and have been on sale for much longer). During December, Amazon revealed that Kindles were selling more than 1 million per week. Analysts have estimated that Kindle Fire sales for the quarter were in the neighborhood of 6 million, which would be significantly more than any other Android-powered tablet on the market. White Nokia Lumia 800 not headed to Australia - at least not yet Posted: 31 Jan 2012 10:18 AM PST Yesterday Nokia released a statement announcing the Australian launch of the Lumia line of smartphones, starting with the Lumia 800. While we were happy to see that Australians would soon be able to get their hands on the latest from Espoo, what piqued our interest more was the mention that the Lumia 800 would be available in white in addition to the black, cyan, and magenta models available in other markets. Well, today is another day, and from the looks of things, it seems that the mention of a white Lumia 800 was a mistake and the Australian launch will only include the previously released colors. Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX review - the best LTE device on Verizon Posted: 31 Jan 2012 08:39 AM PST The new Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX Android smartphone is likely the best 4G device on Verizon for one (very large) reason - it's 3300mAh battery. While we loved the super-thin DROID RAZR, the new MAXX edition is worlds more practical due to its Olympic athlete-like staying power. Michael tells us all about it in this review.
