Hands-on with the white Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone smartphone Posted: 29 Feb 2012 03:52 AM PST Along with the new Lumia 610 and 808 PureView, Nokia also announced at Mobile World Congress 2012 that it plans to bring the Lumia 900 originally shown at CES to European markets in Q2 of this year. Apple expected to announce iPad 3 at media event on March 7 Posted: 28 Feb 2012 02:32 PM PST Apple has sent out invites to the press for a special event in San Francisco on March 7. The invite has the title "We have something you really have to see. And touch." and has an image of a finger on an iPad that appears to have a very high resolution display. It has been rumored for some time that the next iPad would have a screen with Retina-level resolution - quadruple (double pixels on both the horizontal and vertical axis, i.e. 2048 x 1536) that of the iPad and iPad 2 - so those rumors may indeed be true. The next iPad is also expected to pack 4G LTE connectivity, but the rumor mills can't seem to agree if it will have a dual or quad-core processor in it. Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 "Pro" processor for mobile devices announced Posted: 28 Feb 2012 09:59 AM PST Qualcomm has announced a new member of its Snapdragon family for mobile devices, the S4 Pro MSM8960. The S4 Pro features the Adreno 320 GPU, which has support for higher resolution displays and four times the performance of older GPUs. Dual-screened Sony Tablet P available from AT&T on March 4 Posted: 28 Feb 2012 09:08 AM PST AT&T has announced that the dual-screened Sony Tablet P Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet will be available for purchase on March 4. The Tablet P was originally announced back in August of last year and features a folding design with two 5.5-inch 1024 x 480 pixel displays. It is powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. The Tablet P also has a 5 megapixel rear camera and 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera and also has 4GB of internal storage for media. There is also support for AT&T's 4G HSPA+ network. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus 1280 x 800 pixel display and a dual-core 1.4GHz processor. It runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb and is only 7.9mm thick. Vimeo refreshes Apple iOS app, adds native support for iPad Posted: 28 Feb 2012 05:50 AM PST Vimeo, a popular online video sharing site, has updated its app for Apples iPad and iPhone users. Updating the app to its second generation brings a new user interface along with the ability to sync subscriptions, add a watch later queue, browse while playing videos, and the ability to like feeds. The app also features a built-in video editor that enables users to create and upload videos on the go. The Vimeo iOS app is available for free now from Apple's iTunes App Store. Isis Mobile Wallet gains support of Chase, Capital One, and Barclaycard Posted: 28 Feb 2012 05:30 AM PST Isis, a joint mobile payment venture created by AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile USA, has announced that it has gained support from Chase, Capital One, and Barclaycard to further help its mobile payment system initiative.
