Posted: 21 Jul 2011 11:29 AM PDT

Verizon Wireless has dropped the price of the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY gaming smartphone from $199.99 on contract to $99.99. It will be headed to AT&T in time for the holiday 2011 season, but if this price drop is an indication of a general lack of interest in the phone, will anyone care by then?
