Today Verizon Wireless announced the next DROID device, the HTC DROID Incredible. This Android 2.1 powered smartphone offers a stacked set of features that include an 8 megapixel camera and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Caller ID spoofing outlawed via Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010

Today Congress passed the Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010, which is an amendment to the Communications Act of 1934 which makes makes it illegal to manipulate caller identification information. The act states, "In General, it shall be unlawful for any person within the United States, in connection with any real time voice communications service, regardless of the technology or network utilized, to cause any caller ID service to transmit misleading or inaccurate caller ID information, with the intent to defraud or deceive." Israel blocks Apple iPad imports, even for tourists

Israel is banning the import of Apple's iPad, for now at least, claiming that it's concerned that the device's wireless receivers and transmitters could interfere with other wireless products, and that it might not meet the country's national standards. Tourists that attempt to bring iPads into the country will have them confiscated until they leave, and will be charged a daily storage fee. The ban is a precaution for now could be lifted as soon as Israel is sure the iPad meets its standards.

Opera Mini for iPhone tops 1 million downloads

Just days after announcing that its Opera Mini browser was approved for the iPhone and the iPod Touch, Opera today announced that there have been over 1 million downloads of the browser from Apple's App Store. The browser serves as an alternative to Apple's own Safari web browser.
