Twitter working on native Android app Posted: 15 Apr 2010 05:23 AM PDT During Twitter's Chirp developer conference, Evan Williams, one of Twitter's co-founders, said that the company is working on a native Android client. "We realized we had to have a core experience on these major platforms just like we do on the web, otherwise we are failing users," he said. Twitter is also planning its own URL shortener software. Reuters: Nokia expected to show 50 percent quarterly growth next week Posted: 14 Apr 2010 07:06 AM PDT A poll of 43 analysts found that Nokia is expected to report a 50 percent quarterly growth in first quarter operating profit when it announces its 2010 Q1 earnings on April 22nd, Reuters is reporting. The company is also expected to report a growth in in sales for the first time in six quarters next week. Analysts are predicting a .7 percent rise in Nokia's profit margin to 13.7 percent, and that's in line with Nokia's 12-14 percent forecast. Read the full story here. |

Gmail for mobile on iPhone and Android smartphones slightly tweaked Posted: 14 Apr 2010 06:03 AM PDT Today Google announced some small changes to its Gmail for mobile webapp that runs on the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android smartphones. Google revamped the "Compose" page so that it's easier to add contacts. You can also tap a contact to view a detailed view of the person's email address or remove them with just two taps. Nokia and Continental Automotive working on tech for in-car navigation and social networking Posted: 14 Apr 2010 05:51 AM PDT Nokia's Research Center and Continental Automotive are working together on a new concept called Terminal Mode that will allow drivers and passengers to access social networks, view news, and navigate, without taking their eyes off of the road. The tech will use a USB 2.0 connection and will provide information from your phone via an in-vehicle display, including Ovi Maps.
