It is almost certain that Apple will roll out a new iPad during the month, but details around Cupertino's new slate/s have been thin on the ground. Until now that is, as a major leak has laid bare some of the finer details of the iPad Air 2 and a new iPad Mini, although the much rumoured iPad Pro is still proving elusive.

With consumers spoilt for choice across the flagship, the budget end of the market is the next war to be fought and won, and Virgin Mobile has today detailed some new plans.

HTC Desire 612 is a new Verizon smartphone

HTC has been expanding its smartphone output this year, even if that has not translated to sales of hardware through the quarters. The Taiwanese giant has padded out its lower end range and is targeting more dynamic roll outs in the United States, which is a key market for HTC. A leak from Verizon reveals today that a new HTC device is coming to the biggest carrier in the US, the new Desire 612.

Moto G LTE hits AT&T this Friday

Motorola may have recently released a new Moto G, but the older model still remains a compelling choice, especially if you want a bit of LTE thrown into the mix. The Moto G LTE launched five months ago and if you want a 4G packing version of Motorola's budget king then it is the only game in town. It is also now available on AT&T in the United States, so the carrier confirmed today in a press release.

We have been hearing plenty about HTC's upcoming EYE device and today we can show you a press image of the handset, and it is another fetching addition to HTC's line up. What started as a pretty straightforward launch has turned complicated over the weekend as there seems to be two HTC EYE smartphones due to land at the company's New York launch this week.

iOS 8 adoption lags behind iOS 7 and iOS 6

We reported a few weeks ago that through the first 24 hours iOS 8 adoption was lagging behind that of iOS 7 a year ago, and it seems that is still the case a few weeks in. Analytics firm Fisku says that twelve days after release iOS 8 is lagging behind both iOS 6 and iOS 7 adoption rates, although independent analysts put the number above Fisku's figures but still falling short of iOS 7.

Nexus 9 shows up in leaked image

Google is thought to be holding a launch event in a few weeks' time. The company will roll out Android L officially and will also debut some new Nexus devices. We have plenty recently about the Motorola built Nexus 6, but the Nexus 9 tablet has gone a little quiet, especially compared to the summer when it seemed the product was imminent.

Galaxy A5 is a mid-range premium phone

Over the last few weeks we have heard about Samsung's new Galaxy A range, particularly the A3 and the A7, with specs of the devices showing up online. Ironically then, the first of the range to show up in a leaked render is the Galaxy A5, the one device in the range that has kept itself quiet up until this point.
