| Apple outpaces Samsung in Korea, but is that he full story? Posted: 27 Oct 2014 02:24 PM PDT  At the end of last week Samsung revealed that it had shifted 4.5 million units of the Galaxy Note 4 in its first month on release in South Korea and China. That is a fantastic number that makes the Note 4 a bon-a-fide success, however it is a number that pales against Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sales. Just last year the company was floundering, in an utter mess, and according to most on the edge of the abyss. | LG G3 to get Android 5.0 this quarter Posted: 27 Oct 2014 01:41 PM PDT  LG as a company will look back on 2014 as the year in which it turned a very important corner in the smartphone world. Sales have increased, the G3 arrived with plenty of hype and lived up to it, and the Korean company is also making its own processors now. What's more, LG is finally getting serious about software, which was first in evidence after even a quick play with its G3 UI, and is now all but confirmed as the company said the G3 flagship with be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop before the end of the year. | Oppo N3 to launch this Wednesday (Oct. 29th) Posted: 27 Oct 2014 01:20 PM PDT  Oppo has discussed its upcoming N3 smartphone plenty, while a bunch of leaks have given away a lot of details about the device, such as its unique camera. We are finally set to get our hands on the N3 as the Chinese company has pencilled in a launch date for the handset, with a scheduled event for October 29th, which is this Wednesday. | LG Debuts G3 Screen and NUCLUN processor Posted: 27 Oct 2014 06:32 AM PDT  LG has announced its first ever mobile processor, and no, it is not named Odin (the codename for the chip) but instead will be known as "NUCLUN". I liked Odin better, but regardless the new architecture is rolling out in a new LG device, and there is little surprise to see it is a variant of the G3 flagship. | Google says Nexus 9 is not an iPad killer Posted: 27 Oct 2014 05:46 AM PDT  Google and HTC's new Nexus 9 tablet was not built to be an iPad Air 2 killer the company says, according to Engadget. Announced two weeks ago, the Nexus 9 certainly does a good job of at least being an alternative to Apple's all-conquering slate, but Google says the tablet is more of a guide device for other Android OEM's to take inspiration from.
