Eric Schmidt still uses Blackberry

The Blackberry revival is in full swing in case you did not know. The Passport is bringing the company some much needed heat and is selling well to boot. Google CEO Eric Schmidt still uses his Blackberry he confessed, while he also briefly explained why the company got into trouble and seemed to commend Blackberry CEO John Chen for the way he is trying to right the ship.

iPhone 5c sales remain strong, tops UK in August

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus may be stealing all the headlines from just about every other device, but the old iPhones are not doing too badly either. That even includes the often ridiculed iPhone 5c from last year, or as some others consider it, the plastic one. However, the 5c has been a proper success and it normally gets close to the top of best seller lists, such as in the UK where it has been the best-selling handset in August.

ASUS updates ZenFone 4 and 5 to Android 4.4 KitKat

ASUS released the ZenFone range at the beginning of the year and even though they have not found a large audience, they are some of the better budget smartphones currently available. The devices in the range include the entry level ZenFone 4, the appealing ZenFone 5, and the gargantuan ZenFone 6, the latter two even enjoy a splash of premium feel. Those handset all arrived still rocking Android Jelly Bean despite arriving after the launch of KitKat.

LG announced the F60

LG's recent good flagship output culminated in June with the utterly fantastic G3, a device that has given the company more wind than it has ever had in its sails. The South Korean brand is now a bon-a-fide major player in the smartphone market and you can just see that the confidence is growing. It also seems that LG is slowly becoming a company like compatriot Samsung, the sort that has a device for everything.

Here is the first look at the HTC One M8 EYE

HTC is getting ready to launch a new version of its One M8 smartphone. This new device will get rid of the 4MP UltraPixel camera of the normal M8 that divided opinion and will replace it with a 13MP lens. The new device will retain the dual depth lenses of the original model, but HTC is hoping this fairly standard 13MP snapper will be a hit among smartphone photographers. So much so that the company is calling the device the HTC One M8 EYE and here is the first look of the handset.

Here's the one Samsung Galaxy Note 4 feature you did not know about

Apple's "bendgate" has caused a juicy scandal in the tech world and given us all plenty to talk and laugh about over the last week. However, there was a hint on Monday that Samsung could be about to have its own hardware problems when it was revealed there is a gap between the display glass and the bezel on the Galaxy Note 4. This led some early owners of the Galaxy Note 4 to flag it up as a manufacturing defect as the gap is big enough to fit a piece of card between.

Moto 360 back in stock

When Motorola launched the Moto 360 at the start of last month it was very well received. The device may not answer all the questions for smartwatch functionality, but it gets most of them right in terms of design. The wearable promptly sold out of inventory within days, even though Motorola has yet to launch the version with a stainless steel strap.

Apple to offer a gold colored iPad

I suppose we can look back on the Apple iPhone 5s and see it as an innovative device. It arrived with a 64-bit processer, something Android is still yet to do consistently and it also featured a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, tech that rivals have not quite matched in terms of quality. Oh yes, the iPhone 6 also came in a gold hue, a color that has been copied by just about every major rival since. It is a small innovation, but hey, Apple started the gold trend people.
