Google impresses through third quarter Posted: 17 Oct 2014 01:49 PM PDT Google has confirmed its position as one of the world's biggest companies with a solid third quarter performance that was up from this time last year. Mountain View boosted revenue by 20% year on year to rake in $16.52 billion over the last three months. Of course, much of Google's revenue comes from other sources away from mobile (advertising chief among those), but mobile and Android are key to the company continuing to drive its business model. Samsung unveils new Exynos 7 Octa Posted: 17 Oct 2014 01:30 PM PDT I only had to see the great big jet fighter coming out of the screen of a smartphone to be sold on Samsung's new Exynos 7 Octa. However, the MobileBurn hierarchy thought a proper write up was in order, so here I am. HTC confirms One M7 and M8 for Android 5.0 within 90 days Posted: 17 Oct 2014 01:01 PM PDT HTC has reconfirmed its plans for Android 5.0 Lollipop in the wake of the software getting an official roll out this week. You may remember that the Taiwanese company detailed its roadmap for updating high end devices when Android L was unveiled during the summer at Google's I/O event. Sony confirms Android 5.0 for entire Xperia Z range Posted: 17 Oct 2014 05:32 AM PDT Sony was obviously watching Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop final release launch this week as the Japanese company has detailed its plans for the software, and boy are they robust. More than a few Sony handsets will be getting the bump to Lollipop as the company confirmed every device in its flagship Xperia Z range will be treated to the update. Read the full story here. |
