Nexus 9 available on Amazon, starting at $400

Two days after it launched the Google Nexus 9 tablet has landed on Amazon and is now available to purchase. The HTC built slate arrived on the online retail giant is offering the new Nexus at $400 for the lower 16GB version, or $480 if you opt for the 32GB variant.

Apple slashes prices of iPad Mini 1 and 2 and the iPad Air

Not that the iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2 are out in the open some of you may be thinking, "I can now get an older model for a more affordable price" and you would be right. At its launch event in Cupertino today, Apple detailed a slew of price cuts for its remaining iPad range giving the company its first ever coverage over multiple price points.

Apple's iPad Mini 3 is a huge let-down

As well as launching the iPad Air 2 today, Apple also launched another slate. No, sadly it wasn't the much rumoured iPad Pro, but it was a new version of Cupertino's iPad Mini. However, after getting a little closer to the new iPad Mini 3, I am left wondering why Apple bothered as this is as incremental an update as you could imagine.

Apple today launched the new iPad Air 2, the company's latest tablet flagship that arrives amid declining sales and a slate market that is more competitive than ever. However, while Apple's iPad business is declining, it is only mirroring the general tablet trend as a whole and the outgoing iPad Air has comfortably maintained Apple's position as the company to beat in this niche. NVIDIA Confirms Android 5.0 Lollipop for Shield Tablet

With Android 5.0 Lollipop now ready to land at the end of the month on a slew of Google Nexus devices, other companies are confirming or reaffirming their plans for the software. The latest to detail its Lollipop plans is NVIDIA, with the company saying its Shield Tablet will be getting a lick of Android 5.0, although has not confirmed exactly when.

ASUS Padfone X Mini arrives on AT&T

ASUS has some stunning hybrid devices that are unique and live in a niche all by themselves. I am talking about the Padfone range that sees a smartphone coupled with a tablet dock, where the user can slot the smartphone into the rear of the dock to turn it into a slate. Most of the Padfone range is high end, with the smartphone matching smartphone in terms of specs and build quality. However, there is an affordable Padfone too and it is coming to AT&T in the United States.

Google continues with the Nexus 5 with Android 5.0 Lollipop

The Nexus 6 is stunning; it looks good, is highly spec'd, and is well made, but it is also very, very big. In fact, despite its undoubted good qualities, the handset will simply be too big for some tastes, which means some may feel like they will miss out on getting a Nexus. However, while the Nexus 7 is departing to make way for the Nexus 9, Google has announced that the Nexus 6 is not a direct replacement for the Nexus 5, and will continue to sell the older device.

Motorola to upgrade all 2013/2014 devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop

Motorola may be getting shipped out to Lenovo after Google sold the company, but it is still very close to Mountain View and particularly Android. That was in evidence yesterday as the two companies launched the fantastic Nexus 6 smartphone, the best handset Motorola of Google have ever made. Of course, the Nexus 6 is among the first devices to run Android 5.0 Lollipop, but Motorola has shown its commitment to the 5.0 cause today by detailing its plans for it other smartphones.
