Motorola Moto 360 available in the UK Posted: 03 Oct 2014 04:25 AM PDT Motorola's new Moto 360 smartwatch is making its way across the Atlantic and is landing in the UK, available on the O2 network in the country. The wearable comes to the country with a price tag of £199.99 and is an exclusive to O2, or at least that is the situation at the moment. However, the way the 360 has been selling in the US suggests that the device will sell out quick in UK just like it has in the US, where it sold out in double time. Read the full story here. |
Google's Eric Schmidt responds to Tim Cook's security claims Posted: 03 Oct 2014 04:04 AM PDT At the moment, asking if Google (or indeed Android) or Apple is more secure is choosing between the proverbial rock and hard place. Just a month ago we probably would have said Apple without hesitation, at least when compared to Android, but the recent iCloud scandal has thrown that into doubt. Although, Android is like the Wild West sometimes and Google as a whole has not been without its own privacy issues. Read the full story here. |
Huawei launched new Honor Tablet that makes calls Posted: 02 Oct 2014 09:39 AM PDT One of the oddest niches is the one where tablets are given phone making capabilities. These are not phablets as they are just true slates that happen to have call functionality baked in. I can't imagine who buys these devices, but more and more companies seem to be exploring the idea and the latest is Chinese giant Huawei with its new Honor Tablet. Read the full story here. |
Roku has screen mirroring for Android and Windows Phone Posted: 02 Oct 2014 08:59 AM PDT Roku is adding some extra functionality to its set top streaming boxes, well if you are an Android or Windows Phone 8.1 user at least. The company has today announced a new update that will give Android and WP 8.1 device owners the ability to mirror their smartphone or tablet content onto their big screen. Samsung shows map of Galaxy Note roll out dates Posted: 02 Oct 2014 08:07 AM PDT Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 has already been released in South Korea and has sold out of pre-orders after the company moved the launch forward to counter Apple?s iPhone 6. However, October is going to be the month where the Note 4 is busiest, with the handset going on something of a world roll out tour, finding its way to 140 countries before the start of November. Samsung will supply Apple with an A9 processer Posted: 02 Oct 2014 06:38 AM PDT Apple and Samsung have a strange relationship. Cupertino has dragged Samsung through the courts of the world in largely successful patent infringement lawsuits where the Korean giant was found to be copying the iPhone. However, Apple uses Samsung extensively as a components partner, with the electronics giant supplying a large amount of chips for the iPhone and iPad. Samsung has all but confirmed that the odd couple relationship will continue with the next Apple chip, the A9. Read the full story here. |
2 million "reserve" the iPhone 6 in China Posted: 02 Oct 2014 06:21 AM PDT There are some out there who believe Apple could release anything and it would be a hit. The company has been under the microscope over the last week because of the "bendgate" saga where iPhone 6 devices were breaking under a bit of stress. That, you may have thought, would slow up the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on their quest for global domination, but it hasn't. In fact things just get better as China is entering the fray and consumers in the country do not seem put off in the least. Read the full story here. |
This is the Nexus 6 in the wild Posted: 02 Oct 2014 06:03 AM PDT Google and Motorola are readying their latest smartphone, the Nexus 6, and the device should be about to arrive on October 17th. However, if you are familiar with previous Nexus smartphone releases you will remember that they like to be spotted out in the wild pre-launch. I am not sure if this is a deliberate tactic by Google, but it has happened again. Read the full story here. |
