Windows Phone Marketplace now available in 13 more countries

Microsoft is opening its Windows Phone Marketplace app store to 13 new countries. The new countries where the Marketplace is now available are Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela. A total of 54 countries are now able to download apps, games, and music for their Windows Phone smartphones. The news comes on the heels of the launch of the Windows Phone powered Nokia Lumia 800c for China, a CDMA variant of the Lumia 800 specifically built for the Chinese market.

Google releases Android 4.0.4 ICS update for HSPA+ Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus

Google has announced that the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the GSM and HSPA+ versions of the Google Nexus S and Google Galaxy Nexus smartphones is now being distributed to users. The company did not say what changes or fixes come with the update. Earlier today it was also reported that the Wi-Fi version of the Motorola XOOM is getting the same update. Users should get a notification on their phones when the update is available for them to download and install.

Seesmic for Android updated with ads, Pro version available now without

Seesmic has unleashed some new updates to its free Android app, which now includes Instagram embedding, Twitter image uploading, and, unfortunately, ads. Those willing to spring for the $2.99 Seesmic Pro version will rid themselves of pesky ads and will have the ability to combine both their Facebook and Twitter social media streams into one. The update and the new Pro app are available now from Google's Play store.

T-Mobile USA expands mobile TV programming for phones and tablets

T-Mobile USA has announced an expansion to its T-Mobile TV application for its smartphones and tablets. The service is getting a Playground TV channel with more kid-friendly TV and video content. Programming from Nick Jr, Sesame Street, and Discovery is included with the new channel. T-Mobile has also added Urban Zone, which will consist of both live and video-on-demand content from the likes of BET, Rap Entertainment, and more. The TV packages cost $4.99 per month for standard definition or $5.99 per month for HD. The T-Mobile TV app for Android devices is also getting a homescreen widget, which displays the latest information about the programs available.

Sweden may find Apple's iPad marketing misleading as well

A consumer advocacy group in Australia has already lodged a formal complaint and associated lawsuit against Apple for the marketing of its new iPad, and it looks like a group in Sweden may do the same thing. The Swedish Consumer Agency has revealed that it may investigate Apple into whether or not it is misleading customers by claiming the new iPad is 4G capable.

The Jetpack supports Verizon's 4G LTE network and offers instant access to the internet with its mobile hotspot capabilities that allows up to 10 devices to be connected simultaneously. The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot - MiFi 4620L will be available starting April 12 for $49.99, with a two year customer agreement.

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G now available from T-Mobile for $150

T-Mobile USA has begun selling a new Android smartphone, the Galaxy S Blaze 4G from Samsung. The device is available online and in all T-Mobile retail stores starting today. The Galaxy S Blaze 4G offers a 3.97-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display and is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The phone is also compatible with T-Mobile's 42Mbps HSPA+ network. The price tag for the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G smartphone is $149.99, with a two year service agreement.

Temple Run game now available for Android devices

Apple iPhone users have been playing the game since last August but, unfortunately, it took much longer for it to hit Android devices. Developer Imangi Studios announced its availability today for Android devices. Temple Run has over 45 million downloads from Apple's App Store to date.

Nokia officially releases Lumia 800 update with improved battery life

Nokia has announced that the latest software update for the Lumia 800 Windows Phone smartphone has begun officially rolling out to users. Lumia 800 owners in Singapore got a sneak peak at the update a few weeks ago, and have reported that Nokia's claims of significant battery life improvements are legit. The update bumps the Lumia 800's software version up to 1600.2487.8107.12070, and will be slowly deployed over the next four weeks. Users will have to connect their phones to the Zune software on a Mac or PC once the update is available to them.

Evernote for Android updated with speech-to-text, new widget functionality

My favorite app of all time, Evernote, has updated its main Android app with new text-to-speech capabilities and has also added new features to its Evernote Widget application, which will let users customize Evernote widgets with colors and custom buttons. Other widget improvements include a new tiny widget option, large widget notes, and a quick snapshot for widgets that lets users tap on the quick snapshot icon to launch the camera for simple photo saving. Ofcom delays decision on Everything Everywhere's 4G conversion plans

Ofcom, the telecommunications regulator for the UK, has pushed back its decision on Everything Everywhere's plan to convert its 1800MHz spectrum from 2G services to 4G LTE services this year. Ofcom was supposed to make a decision on the matter on April 17, but it has moved the decision back to May 8 to give Everything Everywhere's competitors more time to object. Vodafone has already said that the plan is unfair to other carriers and will give Everything Everywhere a head-start in deploying its 4G LTE network. Other UK carriers will have to wait until the 800MHz and 2600MHz spectrum is auctioned off before they can launch 4G networks of their own.
