Nokia Store beta gets updated for Symbian, Series 40

Nokia Beta Labs is now offering a new version of the Nokia Store for Symbian and Series 40 devices. The new and improved Nokia Store is expected to offer its Series 40 users the ability to view search history and publisher information as well as application updates. For Symbian users, improvements have been made in how updates are handled. Some bug fixes are included and users should expect to see improvement when downloading large files as well. Nokia is welcoming feedback from users and the new Store clients can be downloaded for free now.

Apple moves 3 million new iPads in three days

Following the hints dropped by CEO Tim Cook and AT&T earlier today, Apple has announced that it sold over 3 million new iPads during the three days of its launch weekend starting Friday, March 16. The new iPad went on sale in a dozen countries and territories on March 16, and Apple is poised to launch it in 24 more this coming Friday, March 23. Without a doubt, this is Apple's best tablet launch ever, and is with little doubt the biggest launch of any tablet produced by any company.

This tablet features a 2048 x 1536 resolution Retina touchscreen display as well as a 5 megapixel iSight camera that can record 1080p HD videos. AT&T pays customer that won data throttling small claims suit

AT&T has settled with the customer that sued the carrier in small claims court over speed throttling of his unlimited data service and won by paying him the fee awarded by the court. AT&T cut a check for $935 ($850 for the settlement and $85 for court fees) to the gentleman instead of pursuing an appeal for the verdict.

Motorola, Google awaiting China's approval for acquisition

Motorola and Google may have already won over the hearts of U.S and European regulators concerning Google's proposed purchase of Motorola Mobility, but the companies still have a hurdle to overcome with China's regulators. The purchase cannot be completed until China gives the companies the OK, and the purchase is now facing an additional round of review.

Video: New Apple iPad (3rd gen) 1080p HD video sample

This 1080p HD video sample was recorded on a new 3rd generation Apple iPad using its rear-facing 5 megapixel iSight camera. The iPad does not feature continuous auto-focus while recording video, but does support the same tap-to-focus features as the iPhone 4S where you simply tap on the subject in the video to get the camera to focus on it.

Sources claim Google Nexus tablet could undercut Amazon Kindle Fire

The rumor mills have been churning hard as of late, and the most recent output seems to be centered around the possibility of Google releasing a home-grown Nexus tablet to bring life into the floundering Android tablet space. The latest rumors say that Google could release the tablet at a $199 price point, competing squarely in the Amazon Kindle Fire's arena. Or maybe it will be released at $149, depending on who you believe.

Dell looks to Windows 8 to stake claim in mobile space

Dish looks to convert satellite spectrum for ground use in wake of LightSquared's failure

Satellite television provider Dish Networks is looking to gain approval from the Federal Communications Commission to use some of its satellite spectrum for a terrestrial mobile phone network. This is the same approach that LightSquared made and failed to gain approval with, though Dish may not have the same interference issues that LightSquared faced with its efforts.
