The update packed in support for a new high quality video mode. It also fixed an issue that affected some T-Mobile users connecting over cellular networks, and also fixed bugs found with the Motorola ATRIX. Angry Birds coming soon to Windows Phone 7 Posted: 24 Feb 2011 12:48 PM PST Today Microsoft confirmed that Rovio's hit game Angry Birds will soon be available in the Marketplace for Windows Phone 7 smartphones. Microsoft didn't provide an exact launch date, but said that Angry Birds, as well as Doodle Jump, Plants vs Zombies, Hydro Thunder Go, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1, and geoDefense, would start launching on April 6. NOOK app for Android Honeycomb coming this spring Posted: 24 Feb 2011 12:11 PM PST Bookseller Barnes & Noble has indicated that it will put out a new version of its NOOK for Android application this spring that will take advantage of Android 3.0 Honeycomb's support for larger displays, such as that found on the newly launched Motorola XOOM. Sprint stops pushing Epic 4G Android 2.2 Froyo update Posted: 24 Feb 2011 10:48 AM PST Sprint has posted on its community forums that it is no longer rolling out the Android 2.2 Froyo update to Samsung Epic 4G owners. "There have been an increased number of calls into Care regarding issues with the Epic following the upgrade. As a result, the upgrade will not be pushed to more devices until a resolution for these issues is in place," Sprint said, noting that users were reporting data connectivity issues and SD card problems after applying the update. LG Optimus Pad pre-orders for NTT DOCOMO customers starts March 15 Posted: 24 Feb 2011 05:50 AM PST LG has announced that NTT DOCOMO customers in Japan can pre-order the Optimus Pad tablet computer starting March 15. The Japanese version of the Optimus Pad runs on the Android Honeycomb platform and offers a large 8.9-inch touchscreen with 1280x768 resolution and a 15:9 aspect ratio. Facebook-centric HTC ChaCha and Salsa smartphones launching on June 17 in the UK Posted: 24 Feb 2011 05:27 AM PST Expansys in the UK is now offering a better hint at when HTC's recently launched ChaCha and Salsa phones will hit store shelves. The site gives a June 17 ship date and has opened for pre-orders for both devices. The ChaCha and Salsa both run on the Android operating system and offer a unique Facebook button that, when pressed, automatically delivers Facebook functionality to its users. Dell Streak 5 Android 2.2 Froyo update rolling out for AT&T and Rogers customers Posted: 24 Feb 2011 05:23 AM PST Dell is finally rolling out Google's Android 2.2 Froyo OS for its customers on AT&T and on Rogers in Canada. Froyo will add support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1 content, and Dell's update will also add Dell's Stage application which should provide quicker access to the application that you most frequently use.
