Amazon Kindle 2.6 for iPhone and iPad now offering real page numbers Posted: 21 Feb 2011 05:06 AM PST Amazon has updated its Kindle application to version 2.6 for the iPhone and the iPad. The latest iteration adds "real page numbers" to some ebooks. If the feature is supported for a given title, Amazon will provide the ISBN for the book its taking the page number information from. Typically ebooks only provide a numbered location that represents how far along in a book you are. The new feature would make it easier for a teacher, for example, to provide the class with an option to buy either an ebook or a textbook. The update is available for free now. Motorola XOOM tablet priced at $799 from Best Buy Posted: 20 Feb 2011 08:50 AM PST It seems that the Motorola XOOM, a 10.1-inch Android Honeycomb tablet, was recently available for pre-order from Best Buy with in-store pickup on February 24, but is already back-ordered. The tablet functions on Verizon's 3G network (upgradeable to 4G LTE) and will set you back a hefty $799. The device is not available on contract, but will require a month to month data activation on Verizon for at least the first month. No Wi-Fi only model is listed at this time.
