White Samsung Galaxy Note now available in the UK

AT&T may be getting a white version of the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone/tablet hybrid at some undetermined point in the future, but customers in the UK are able to pick up the lighter pigment version now. The white Galaxy Note has the same hardware as the black version, including its 5.3-inch, 720p Super AMOLED display and 1.4GHz dual-core processor. It is available exclusively through UK retailer John Lewis until next month, and includes 250 GBP worth of free music, films, and e-Books for the first 100 customers that scoop it up.

ZTE, Ericsson settle patent dispute with licensing agreement

ZTE and Ericsson have announced that the two companies have settled their patent disputes and have entered into a cross-licensing agreement. The cross-license is applicable worldwide. Ericsson had initially sued ZTE over alleged infringements, and ZTE fired back with a lawsuit of its own shortly afterwards. The disputed patents cover GSM and 3G/UMTS cellular technology.

Apple inches closer to regulatory approval for iPhone on China Telecom

Apple recently caused quite a ruckus in China when it pulled the iPhone 4S from store shelves after throngs of people were nearly in a riot to purchase the long-awaited device, but that doesn't mean it isn't continuing to pursue business in the world's most populated country. The company recently gained approval from yet another regulator to bring the iPhone to China Telecom, offering the Chinese another carrier alongside China Unicom from which to purchase the iPhone.

German court denies one of Samsung's seven patent claims against Apple

The ongoing court battle between Samsung and Apple in Germany continues today, and it looks like Samsung has suffered a blow in this latest round. A judge in the German regional court where Samsung brought five lawsuits involving seven different patents against Apple has rejected one of Samsung's claims.
