Microsoft SkyDrive Android app now available in Google Play

Microsoft first revealed earlier this month that it would deliver an Android app for its SkyDrive cloud storage service, and the app is now available for Android 2.3 or later devices. SkyDrive follows the Android user interface design guidelines, but there are elements of Windows Phone as well. The app supports viewing or sharing cloud-stored content, deleting or creating new folders, and uploading from an Android device to SkyDrive. Users can also batch upload their photos or view recently used documents. Download from Google Play

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi updated to Android 4.0

Samsung has begun updating its Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 313 MB update adds a new version of Samsung's Touchwiz user experience integrated with Android 4.0 features like Face Unlock and data monitoring. The Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade appears to only affect the Samsung Galaxy 8.9 Wi-Fi model, not carrier-branded versions. Users can prompt an over-the-air update by pressing Menu > Settings > About tablet > Software, or use Samsung Kies to install the latest version through their desktop.
