Three UK selects Samsung to build its LTE network Posted: 24 Aug 2012 05:34 AM PDT Samsung Electronics will configure its first mobile network in Europe soon, as Three UK has selected the company to build its LTE Radio Access Network (RAN) and 3G/LTE core infrastructure. The two companies reached an agreement for Samsung to deploy LTE base stations throughout the UK, and ready Three's existing 3G network to efficiently work with its upcoming 4G technology. Three hopes to have enough stations to begin field trials later this year, and if successful, complete the network build-out in time for a 2013 commercial launch. Read the full story here. |
