Orange UK to offer Samsung C330 Champ and Monte Slider E2550

Orange UK will soon be offering the Samsung C30 Champ and E2550 Monte Slider to its PAYG customers. According to its Coming Soon page, The Champ is a compact touchscreen phone with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio support, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD card slot. The Monte Slider is a entry level handset that offers a 2-inch color screen, a 1.3 megapixel shooter, an FM radio, and microSD card expansion. Both phones are expected to be offered for less than 100 GBP.

Satellite music provider Sirius XM is now offering a native iOS 4 version of its Premium Oline Radio application. The new app is available now for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users. For users running iOS 4, this latest version of Sirius XM's app (version 1.3.3) offers background audio via multi-tasking. With this new feature, users can stream audio while working in other apps. Other features include improved buffering and improved organization of channel lists. The new Sirius XM app is available now for free in the App Store.

Motorola updates DROID X firmware

Skype blocks popular fring chat client amid legal threats

Fring recently announced that, due to legal threats from Skype, it can no longer offer Skype support in its multi-platform chat client. "We are disappointed that Skype, who once championed the cause of openness, is now attempting to muzzle competition, even to the detriment of its own users" said Avi Shechter, fring's Co-Founder and CEO while apologizing to fring users.

Microsoft announces Windows Phone Live site, Find My Phone feature for Windows Phone 7

Today Microsoft announced some new features for its upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system. Microsoft said that Windows Phone 7 will connect with a user's Zune software on the PC through WiFi networks, which will allow wireless syncing of music, video, and photos. Microsoft is also launching a Windows Phone Live website that lets Windows Phone 7 users publish pictures, sync Windows Live contacts, OneNote files, and more, using the online interface. That website will also allow users to locate their smartphone using the free Find My Phone feature, which provides a location on a map, as well as the ability to remotely ring the phone, lock it, or erase all of the data on it.
